Diagnosis. Male palp with VTA and RTA, VTA stout, RTA with a small basal apophysis, bulb without apophysis, embolus short, nail-shaped ( Figs 11 c–e, g ). Female epigyne with small arched sclerotized plate; copulatory ducts short; spermathecae globular ( Figs 11 f, h, i ).

Variation. Total length: males: 2.80–3.20 (n = 41); females: 2.90–3.80. (n = 128). Some specimens have a large “n”-shaped black marking on the dorsal shield of prosoma while it is completely dark in others ( Figs 11a, b ). The abdominal markings vary in size.

Distribution. Bhutan, China (recorded from Counties of Gongshan, Tengchong, Fugong, Longling and Yongping, also from Kunming City, Yunnan Province).

Remarks. This species is similar to L. excultus (O. P.-Cambridge, 1885) in general appearance and the structures of genital organs. It is very difficulty to find differences between figs 3 a–c given in Song & Zhao (1994) for L. kunmingensis and figs. 19–24 given in Marusik (1993) for L. excultus . Possibly, this species is a junior synonym of L. excultus .
