Diagnosis. Length 1.8−2.2 mm, head long, 1.5 times as long as wide, as long as pronotum, eyes large, slightly prominent, rostrum slightly rounded with short and sharp median projection, pronotum slightly longer than wide and clearly shorter than elytra, with or without foveae, lacking median sulcus, elytra shorter, lacking basal foveae, with fine sutural stria, with trichomes at rounded posterior corners, midlegs strongly modified in males, abdomen long, more than 1.75 times as long as elytra, transverse basal impression narrow, first paratergite with trichome. Antennae with scape miniscule, pedicel small, cylindrical, antennomeres III −V elongate, much longer than wide, subequal, terminal antennomere about 1.5 times as long as V, strongly expanded toward apex, at apex truncate.
Species included. Mesoleptochir saegeri Jeannel, 1959 ; M. rougemonti Besuchet, 1974 .
Distribution. Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia.
