Beana penniuncus Pellinen sp. nov.

Type material. Holotype. Thailand, Lampang, Muban Phichai, 31.viii.2010 (slide No. PS 1816). http://id.luomus. fi/308028. DNA extract MP1816 (stored at Department of Biology , Lund University, Sweden).

The holotype is in the collection NHM Helsinki.

Diagnosis. Externally close to the previous species, forewings lighter variegated with whitish patches. The species is easily separated by male genitalia.

Description. Adult. Forewing length 24 mm in male, female unknown; frons with unicolorous pale cream-colored scales, labial palpi curved upwards and apical segment narrower, neck with erect cream-colored and occasional blackish scales, male antennae shortly ciliate. Male forewings variegated grey, postmedial line unclear, subterminal line black zigzag-like. Hindwings light grey darkening apically, underside grey. Abdomen 8 th tergite with straight apodemes. Male genitalia ( Fig. 2 a–c): uncus small, slender, curved with crest-like two-branched tip, valva long, broadening apically, with apically branching distal costal process, distal saccular process with scobinated brushes at two-thirds, apically branched, saccus medium broad, rounded, aedeagus large, narrow, straight, apically notched.

Distribution. The new species is so far known from Northern Thailand, Lampang district.

Etymolgy. The species name refers to the two-branched tip of the uncus.
