Genus Idiopteryx Walsingham, 1891 View in CoL

Type species: Cryptolechia obliquella Walsingham, 1881 .

= Isotypa Janse, 1954 , syn. nov.

The genus Idiopteryx Walsingham is characterized by the forewing venation with R 3 stalked with R 4+5, R 5 to costa, M 3, CuA 1, and CuA 2 on a common stalk; the hindwing with M 2 well-developed; the hind tibia with long, rough scales beyond half all around. It is differentiated from Dragmatucha Meyrick by having CuA 1 and CuA 2, whereas in the latter, CuA 1 and CuA 2 coincident. Janse (1954) described Isotypa , separating it from Idiopteryx Walsingham based on vein R 5 absent in the forewing. However, the type species of the genus, discopuncta Janse, 1954 has a well-developed R 5 which is stalked with R 4 about middle. He probably erroneously read the veins in his description. Hence, Isotypa Janse , syn. nov. is synonymized with Idiopteryx Walsingham.
