Type species: Eridachtha prolocha Meyrick, 1910 .

The genus Eridachtha Meyrick was established, based on an Oriental species, E. prolocha Meyrick, 1910 from India. The genus Eridachtha is characterized by the hindwing venation with M2 and M3 coincident, CuA 1 stalked with M 2+3. and by labial palpus. The second segment of labial palpus in Eridachtha with rough scales, while in closely related genera Atrichozancla and Frisilia , the second segment of labial palpus with hair-like scales. Of the eight known species, five species were described from Africa.
