Type material. Holotype male: Brazil, S„o Paulo, Salesópolis, E[staç„o] B[iológica] Boracéia , 23°[38’]S, 45°52’W, 885m [altitude]. Malaise [trap], 23–29,. XI.2008, Grossi, P. col. ( MZFS); 1 paratype male, same data as holotype ( MZFS).
Etymology. This species name is to honor of Dr. Paschoal Grossi who collected the specimens studied here.
Diagnosis. Eye bridge with four rows of facets; eyes separated by 0.5 diameter of facet; internal arm of gonostylus with small apical stripes in number of four; external arm of gonostylus with small external median lobe; aedeagus, in dorsal view with format of arrow; apex straight.
Description. Male. Head ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ): wider than long, 1.4 times wider than long; eye bridge with four facet rows; eyes separated by 0.5 facet diameters; clypeal patch of alveoli subquadrate; epipharynx ( Figs. 1B, C View FIGURE 1 ) with 14 small spiniform setae at ventral end; antenna with scape 1.5 times the length of pedicel; antenna ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ): scape 0.5X the length of pedicel; palpus formula ( Fig. 1F View FIGURE 1 ): 1.0:1.9:1.9:2.6. Thorax ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ): sensory area with microtrichia near the thoracic gland. Wing ( Figs. 1G, H View FIGURE 1 ): radial fork at the same level of medial fork. Terminalia ( Figs. 2A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I View FIGURE 2 ): gonocoxal apodeme plate-like, wider than the greatest width of ejaculatory apodeme; internal arm of gonostylus with four small apical stripes; external arm of gonostylus with small external median lobe; hypopod with two rows of big alveoli; apex of aedeagus, dorsally, with format of arrow; apex of aedeagus not directed upward; ejaculatory apodeme approximately 0.5 times the length of aedeagus, basally semicircular, 1.5 times the greatest width of the aedeagus.
