Material examined. Holotype female, Kenya, from a coffee farm in Nyeri, Central Province , June 2006 (H. Mugo).
Female: Dorsal shield smooth, 350 long, 180 wide, with five pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 32, j3 38, j4, j5 25, j6 28, J2 27, J5 5, z2 32, z4, 46, z5 27, Z1 32, Z4 35, Z5 58, s4 53, S2, S4, S5 32, r3 28, R1 23, JV5 80. Setae Z 5, JV5 blunt distally. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of z2. Sternal shield smooth, with posterior medium lobe, distances between St I-St III 69 , St II-St II 69 , St IV on small platelets. Genital shield smooth, 125 wide. Ventri-anal shield longer than wide, 115 long, 70 wide, with a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). A pair of metapodal platelets, five pairs of small round platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with 12 teeth, movable digit with three teeth. Spermatheca calyx 42 long, anteriorly enlarged, with posterior filament, 28 long, flared distally. Macrosetae pointed distally on Sge II 32 , blunt on Sge III 32 , Sti III 32 , Sge IV 58 ; 40, Sti IV 52 ; 51; 40, St IV 62 . Chaetotaxy : genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. This species is similar to U. macrosetosus (Van der Merwe) . The shorte r peritreme, and the number and shape of macrosetae separate these two species. The male is unknown.
