Material examined. Holotype female, Kenya, Naivasha lakeside, altitude 1900 m, April 5, 2006 (El-Banhawy).

Female: Dorsal shield smooth, brown in color, 396 long, 250 wide, with five pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 28, j3 37, j4, j5, j6, J2, J5 4-6, z2, z4 8, z5 4, Z1 5, Z4 83, Z5 82, s4 74, S2, S4, S5 8, r3 20, R1 6, JV5 70. Setae Z 4, Z5 serrated, remaining setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I- St III 55 and St II-St II 60 , St IV on platelets. Genital shield 71 wide. Ventri-anal shield, shield shaped, slightly reticulated, 100 long, 87 wide at level of ZV2 and 74 at level of anus, with a pair of elliptical pre-anal pores close to each other and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with four teeth, movable digit with one tooth. Spermatheca calyx funnelshaped, 4 long, 4 wide anteriorly, 9 wide distally with a short stalk, 5 long, atrium enlarged, 6 long, 4 wide, furcate at juncture with broad major duct. Macrosetae, Sge II 23 , Sge III 21 , Sge IV 60 , Sti IV 50 , St IV 65 . Chaetotaxy: genu II 2 , 2 /0, 2/0, 1, genu III, 1, 2/1, 2/0, 1.

Remarks. This species differs from the closely related species G. bufortus Ueckermann & Loots in details of the spermatheca, position and shape of pre-anal pores and length of j3. The male is unknown.
