Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Mt . Kenya, Salient Main road, altitude 2000 m, July 13, 2004 (El-Banhawy); 2 females, Mt . Kenya, Mutubia gate, altitude 3200 m, July 16, 2004 (El-Banhawy) .
Female: Dorsal shield smooth, 330 long, 210 wide, with six pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 28, j3 45, j4, j5 12, j6 10, J2 9, J5 8, z2 25, z4 35, z5 9, Z1 12, Z4 80, Z5 90, s4 80, S2 55, S4 12, S5 10, r3 25, R1 20, JV5 60. SetaeZ4, Z5 serrated, remaining setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j1. Sternal shield smooth, posterior margin concave, distances between St I-St III 62 , St II-St II 70 , St IV on platelets. Genital shield 72 long. Ventri-anal shield smooth, lateral margin constricted at level of JV2, 98 long, 78 wide, with a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with 10–11 teeth, movable digit with five teeth. Spermatheca calyx saccular, flared toward vesicle, 20 long, 6–8 wide, atrium nodular. Macrosetae, Sge II 26 , Sge III 26 , Sge IV 46 , Sti 35, St IV 72 . Chaetotaxy: genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/1, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Male: Chaetotaxy of dorsal shield as in female. Ventri-anal shield slightly reticulated, 96 long, 140 wide with a pair of small pre-anal pores and six pairs of setae. Spermatodactyl T-shaped, shaft 22 long.
Remarks. The female holotype and male paratype were collected at Katumani, Machakos, Kenya, September 30, 1990, C. Kariuki ( Zannou et al., 2007).
