Type species: Paraseiulus kuzini Wainstein, 1962 .
Diagnosis. The species in this genus are characterised by the presence of setae z6 and JV2 and the absence of Z1. Females with setae z3, z6, J2, S2, S4, S5, R1, JV2, JV4 and ZV3 present, setae z6 inserted at level of s6; ventrianal shield with four pairs of pre-anal setae and a pair of pores. Calyx of spermatheca elongate, tubular in most species. Fixed digit of chelicera with 2–4 teeth, movable digit with 1–3 teeth. Legs without macrosetae or with one macroseta on Bt IV, genu II with 7 or 8 setae, genu III with 7 or 8 setae ( Chant & McMurtry, 1994).
