Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Nakuru National Park, Rift Valley , altitude 1765 m, May 5, 2006 ; 2 females, Mfangano Island, Nyanza Province , altitude 1300 m, December 10, 2005 (El-Banhawy).
Female: Dorsal shield reticulated, 310 long, 200 wide, with five pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 24, j3 12, j4 7, j5 10, j6, J2 12, J5 5, z2 10, z4 12, z5 10, Z1, Z4 12, Z5 37, s4 14, S2 9, S4, S5 12, r3 14, R1 9, JV5 28. Seta Z 5 serrated, remaining setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level between z2 and j3. Sternal shield smooth, with posterior lobe, distances between St I-St III 73 , St II-St II 62 , St IV free on integument. Genital shield 83 wide. Ventri-anal shield 88 long, 65 wide, with a pair of crescentic preanal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of sigillar sclerites, and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with three small teeth clustered distally, movable digit with one tooth. Spermatheca calyx filamentous, slightly flared distally, 44 long, atrium inconspicuous. Macrosetae bulbous, Sge II 18 , Sge III 24 , Sge IV 37 , Sti IV 23 , St IV 37 . Chaetotaxy : genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu II 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. The female holotype was collected from Benin, DRC, May 7, 1955, E. W. Baker ( Pritchard & Baker, 1962). This species has also been reported from Benin, Burundi, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Togo ( Moraes et al., 2001). The male is unknown.
