Material examined. Holotype female, Kenya, Manda Island , Coast province, July 21, 2005 (El-Banhawy) . Paratypes. 1 male, same data as holotype ; 12 females, Lamu Island ; 24 females, Pate Island ; 26 females, Manda Island ; 3 females, Wasini Island, Coast province , July 20, 2005 (El-Banhawy) ; 8 females, Mbita point, altitude 1310m, December 7, 2005 ; 4 females, Ruma National Park , altitude 1400m, December 9, 2005 ; 13 females, Mfangano island , altitude 1300m, December, 10, 2005 ; 21 females, Rusinga island , altitude 1300m, December 11, 2005 , Nyanza province (El-Banhawy)

Female: Dorsal shield smooth, with antero-lateral striations, 325 long, 230 wide. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 28, j3 25, Z5 48, s4 9, JV5 36, remaining setae minute, 7-9. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level between j1-j3. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 55 , St II-St II 58 , St IV free on integument. Genital shield 80 wide. Ventri-anal shield 104 long, 72 wide, with a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with three small teeth clustered distally, movable digit with one tooth. Spermatheca calyx cone shaped, 15 long, 9 wide distally, atrium conspicuous, 4 long. Macrosetae sharp, Sge II 14 , Sge III 14 , Sge IV 38 , Sti IV 32 , St IV 53 . Chaetotaxy: genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.

Male: Chaetotaxy of dorsal shield as in female. Ventri-anal shield 105 long, 162 wide, with anterior striations, a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae. Spermatodactyl straight, shaft 43 long.

Remarks. This species is similar to E. minutisetus Moraes & McMurtry. The length of seta j3 (25) and peritreme (almost to j1) in the former and seta j3 (minute), and peritreme to j 3 in the latter, separate these species.
