Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Mt. Elgon National Park , Bamboo zone, altitude 2626 m, March 15, 2005 (El-Banhawy) .
Female: Dorsal shield smooth, 300 long, 210 wide. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 21, j3 25, j4, j5, j6 12, J2 13, J5 7, z214, z4 20, z5, Z1 12, Z4 15, Z5 50, s4 30, S2, S416, S5 14, r3, R1 14, JV5 37. Seta Z 5 slightly serrated, remaining setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j3. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 58 , St II-St II 70 , St IV free on integument. Genital shield 80 wide. Ventrianal shield 100 long, 70 wide, with a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores, and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventrianal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with four small teeth clustered distally, movable digit with two teeth. Spermatheca calyx tubular, 24 long, 5 wide, atrium enlarged, 5 long. Macrosetae, Sge II 25 , Sge III 30 , Sge IV 58 , Sti IV 51 , St IV 95 . Chaetotaxy : genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. The female holotype was collected from Gossypium sp. Morrumbala, Mozambique, March 25, 1964 ( Meyer & rodrigues, 1966). This species was also collected from South Africa, February 5, 1985 (E. A. Ueckermann), Swaziland, February 5, 1985 (E. A. Ueckermann) and from Brazzaville, DRC, September 25, 1990 (O. Bonato) ( Moraes et al., 2001). The male is unknown.
