Material examined. Kenya, 1 female, Mt . Kenya, Mararia main forest, altitude 2550 m. July 15, 2004; 8 females, Mt. Elgon National Park, Bamboo zone, altitude 2630m, March 12, 2005; 1 female, above Kaburu KWS post, altitude 2425 m, March 13, 2005; 3 females, Naivasha Elsmere Park, altitude 1712 m, May 3, 2006; 1 female, Nakuru National Park, altitude 1765 m, May 6, 2006; 2 females, Taita Hills, Coast province , altitude 1630 m, July 2, 2006; 2 females, Wyaundo Island , Nyanza Province , altitude 1300 m, December 7, 2005 (El-Banhawy) .
Female: Dorsal shield smooth, 310 long, 200 wide, with five pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae, j1 30, j3 37, j4, j5, j6, J2 8-12, J5 6, z2 18, z4 25, z5 10, Z1 12, Z4 16, Z5 51, s4 46, S2, S4 18, S5 23, r3, R1 12, JV5 35. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j3. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 58 , St II-St II 67 , St IV on small platelets. Genital shield 78 wide. Ventri-anal shield 90 long, 67 wide with a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores, three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, fused laterally, a thin longitudinal sigillar sclerite and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with four small teeth clustered distally, movable digit with one tooth. Spermatheca calyx conical-shaped, 14 long, prominent, atrium enlarged, 7 long, 5 wide. Macrosetae sharp distally, Sge II 25 , Sge III 25 , Sge IV 41 , Sti IV 32 , St IV 48 . Chaetotaxy: genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.
Remarks. The female holotype was collected from Nairobi, Kenya, December 30, 1972, A. R. O. Coll. N. K72a ( Swirski & Ragusa, 1978).
