Material examined. Kenya, 1 male, Ndere Island, Nyanza Province , Kenya altitude 1288 m, December 12, 2006 (El-Banhawy); 1 female, Kakamega rain forest, altitude 1620 m, July 23, 2006; 1 female, Rusinga Island, altitude 1300 m, December 10 2005; 1 female, Ndere Island, Nyanza Province , altitude 1280 m, December 12, 2005 (El- Banhawy) .

Female: Dorsal shield 300 long, 210 wide, with antero-lateral striations and five pairs of pores. Measurements of dorsal setae: j1 30, j3 35, j4, j5 7, j6, J2 12, J5 6, z2 28, z4 38, z5 8, Z1, Z4 12, Z5 46, s4 68, S2 20, S4, S5 18, r3 22, R1 10, JV5 30. Seta Z 5 serrated, remaining setae smooth. Peritrematal shield fused anteriorly with dorsal shield, reaching level of j3. Sternal shield smooth, distances between St I-St III 58 , St II-St II 58 , St IV on platelets. Genital shield 74 wide. Ventri-anal shield 87 long, 52 wide, with a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae (JV1, JV2, ZV2). Two pairs of metapodal platelets, two pairs of sigillar sclerites and four pairs of setae surrounding ventri-anal shield. Fixed digit of chelicera with four teeth clustered distally, movable digit with one tooth. Spermatheca calyx elongate, slightly flared distally, 16 long, 4 wide near vesicle, 2.5 wide near small atrium. Macrosetae, Sge II 25 , Sge III 25 , Sge IV 52 , Sti IV 35 , St IV 60 . Chaetotaxy : genu II 2 , 2 / 0, 2/0, 1, genu III 1 , 2 /1, 2/0, 1.

Male: Chaetotaxy of dorsal shield as in female. Ventri-anal shield 80 long, 120 wide, with anteriolateral striations, a pair of crescentic pre-anal pores and three pairs of pre-anal setae. Spermatodactyl L-shaped, shaft 18 long.

Remarks. The female holotype was collected from Maguco, Mozambique, April 16, 1964, M. C. Rodriguez ( Meyer & Rodrigues, 1966). This species has also been reported from Burundi, South Africa and Zambia ( Moraes et al., 2001).
