Type material. Description. Shell large, solid, moderately broad to broad, with coeloconoid spire, slightly scalate whorls and high subcylindrical last whorl. Protoconch unknown. Teleoconch of nine whorls, separated by deeply incised, weakly undulating suture. Early spire narrowly conical; whorls high, weakly convex with prominent, orthocline axial ribs separated by narrow interspaces. Spiral sculpture of broad, flattened bands of equal width, six on penultimate whorl, separated by narrow grooves. Axial ribs and interspaces widening and flattening during ontogeny, resulting in broad, poorly defined axial ribs on last whorl. Fifth and sixth teleoconch whorls increasing in diameter and convexity, causing coeloconoid profile. Last whorl subcylindrical with rounded shoulder, weakly contracting. Aperture moderately narrow. Outer lip thickened with moderately to strongly developed internal labial callus pad, with up to ten denticles of variable strength. Anal canal wide, V-shaped. Siphonal canal relatively short, moderately wide. Columellar callus forming prominent, thickened, well-delimited rim, bearing indistinct columellar denticles. Parietal callus thickened, slightly detached.

Shell measurements and ratios. SL: 17.9–20.3 mm, MD: 7.5–8.6 mm, AA: 31–33°, SL/MD: 2.2–2.4, AL/AW: 3.6–3.7, LWH/AH: 1.2–1.3.

Palaeoenvironment. Unknown.

Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (middle Miocene): Vienna Basin: Niederleis ( Austria), Sedlec (Porzteich) (the Czech Republic) (own data);? Carpathian Foredeep: Zborów ( Ukraine) ( Friedberg 1938); Dacian Basin: Opanec ( Bulgaria) (Kojumdgieva in Kojumdgieva & Strachimirov 1960); Făget Basin: Lăpugiu de Sus ( Romania) (own data).
