Distribution. Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama. New record for Colombia.

Distribution in Colombia. Caquetá.

Remarks. Banasa excavata has the body longer than 10 mm, and the gonocoxite VIII is weakly emarginate.
