Enoplium rufipes Klug 1842: 362 . Type locality: Salto Grande , Brazil. The number of specimens available to Gorham when he made his description is unknown. Therefore, I invoke Recommendation 73F of the ICZN (1999) and designate a lectotype labeled “Salto Grande” and deposited in ZMHB.

Pelonium zonatum Thomson 1860:66 . New synonymy.

Pelonium rufipes (Klug) : Gorham 1877: 419; Schenkling 1903: table 2, fig. 11.

Lasiodera rufipes (Klug) : Corporaal 1950: 278; Solervicens 2008: 593; Opitz 2017: 63.

Diagnosis. Specimens of this species are superficially similar to those of L. ruficollis and L. trifasciata . They differ from L. ruficollis by having a black forebody and from L. trifasciata by having red legs and a more coarsely punctate pronotal disc.

Redescription. Size: Length 9.5 mm; width 3.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 45 View Figs . Color: Upper frons and epicranium black, lower frons and post-gena reddish; antennal fundus testaceous, capitulum black; pronotum black; prothoracic venter reddish; pterothorax and abdomen black; elytra bicolored, each elytron with 4 yellow markings. Head: Funicular antennomeres filiform, antennomeres 9 and 10 triangular, antennomere 11 sublunulate ( Fig. 1 View Figs ); eyes small, narrower than width of frons (EW/FW = 16/35); cranium coarsely punctate. Thorax: Pronotum ( Figs. 24 View Figs , 31 View Figs ) quadrate (PW/PL = 68/75), lateral margins with a tubercle; elytral disc without asetiferous punctures; EL/EW = 190/50; protibial anterior margin spinous. Abdomen: Pygidium scutiform; aedeagus as in Fig. 37 View Figs ; phallobasic rod bipartite, phallobasic rod plate broad.

Variation. Size: Length 9.0–17.0 mm; width 3.0–5.0. mm. Except for body size, the available specimens are quite homogeneous

Natural History. Specimens were collected from October to June; some at 300–500 m elevation.

Plaumann; idem, 1-XII-1932, F. Plaumann; idem, X-1973, F. Plaumann; Blumenau, no other information ( Fig. 48 View Fig ). PARAGUAY. ARGENTINA. Specimens are

deposited in ACMT, AMNH, BMNH, CASC, FMNH, FSCA, MNHN, TAMU, USNM, and WOPC.

Notes. I examined the type of this species in 1974. The description is based on a homotype specimen.
