V. brevicaudus ( Carpenter, 1900)
– Isotoma brevicauda Carpenter, 1900: 274 NU Wahlgren 1907 as reuteri ; Addison 1980; Fjellberg 1982, 1986; Babenko & Bulavintsev 1997; Skidmore 1995;
Christiansen & Bellinger 1998; Potapov 2001; Hogg & Hebert 2004; Babenko & Fjellberg 2006
Remarks: As Fjellberg (1986) wrote, the “ Wahlgren (1907) record of Isotoma reuteri Schött [from Canadian Arctic Archipelago] is probably either Vertagopus arcticus or Vertagopus brevicaudus ”. The same is probably true for McAlpine’s record of Isotoma violacea from Ellef Ringnes Island.
General distribution: Northern Holarctic.
