Remarks: Some of the above records, especially northern ones, may not be E. comparata but E. erratica . As

Christiansen & Bellinger (1980, p. 845) wrote, “the senior author’s earlier arctic material identified as this species

[ comparata ] belong mainly to the related but distinct species E. erratica ”. For instance, this is true for Babenko’s

(1993) record from Devon and Ellesmere Islands ( Babenko & Fjellberg 2006, remark 193).

General distribution: Nearctic.
