Remarks: Christiansen & Bellinger (1980, p. 858) consider published records of the species as “dubious because of confusion with other species”. Stach (1966) mentioned this species only from “ St. Pierre Isl.” which is a self-governing oversea territory of France situated in Atlantic Ocean near the coast of Newfoundland. However, this species is very likely to occur also in Newfoundland.

General distribution: Holarctic.
