Remarks: The occurrence of this species in the Nearctic is problematic: according to Jordana (2012, p. 123) it “may be endemic to the British Isles”. On the other hand, Katz et al. (2015) recorded the species in Pennsylvania, USA. The species is attributed to 1884 in www. collembola .org, although on the verso of the title page of the volume 17 of the Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society it is stated that No 101, pp. 269–346 was published in October 20, 1883 (https://archive.org/details/journaloflinnean17188384linn).
General distribution: Europe and Nearctic (?).
