Remarks: The majority (if not all) of the above records are based on Christiansen & Bellinger’s remark (1980, p. 451) that “extensive comparison of Nearctic specimens of O. oreadis (including the types), with specimens in Dr. Yosii’s collection identified as O. flavescens , show these species to be inseparable, in spite of minor differences from the descriptions by Yosii”. In fact, O. oreadis appears to be a senior synonym of Leeonychiurus mai (Wray) ( Bernard 2015) . Species of the modern genus Allonychiurus do exist in the Nearctic but the presence of true A. flavescens there probably needs further confirmation.
