Xylococcus Löw, 1882: 274 View in CoL .

Pergande (in Hubbard & Pergande, 1898) placed this in the Xylococcinae, while Cockerell (1899b) assigned it to the Xylococcini. Morrison (1928) agreed with these higher taxa. Zahradnik (1959) raised it to family status, Xylococcidae.
