Stigmacoccus View in CoL was placed in the Stigmacoccini , Xylococcinae, by Morrison (1927) . Its relationships have not been studied since. The tribe Stigmacoccini Morrison is here being raised to family status. Whilst clearly related to the Xylococcidae, both the adult males and females of Stigmacoccus View in CoL differ significantly from those of the Xylococcidae and all other margarodoids.
