( Plate 3E, Figs. 163–170)

Length. Male 7.90–8.10 mm; female unknown.

External morphology. Medium size, robust species. General color black and yellow with yellow spots on veins of forewings, broad transverse transparent band medially and apically; mesonotum black with pale yellow markings; pronotum black, bullae yellow; crown yellow with large black, laterally concave, marking medially; eyes translucent; face black, bordered by yellow ( Plate 3E). Head distinctly narrower than pronotum, anterior margin broadly rounded, slightly produced anteriorly; crown broad, nearly as wide as width of eyes, lateral margins slightly convergent basally, disk depressed medially; eyes large, semiglobular; pronotum large, nearly twice as long as median length of crown; surface bullated; mesonotum large, nearly twice as long as pronotum; forewings typical; clypeus long, broad, lateral margins evenly and broadly convex; clypellus short, about 1/3 as long as clypeus, narrow, slightly inflated baso-medially, lateral margins nearly parallel.

Male genitalia. Pygofer narrow, without caudal processes, caudodorsal margin with few setae ( Fig. 163); right subgenital plate, long, narrow, glabrous ( Fig. 164); style long, broad, nearly as long as aedeagus ( Figs. 165, 166), in lateral view with small submedial lobe, apex abruptly pointed ( Fig. 165); aedeagus in lateral view long, shaft broadly sinuate, in dorsal view inflated subapically with 2 submedial spines, basal spine short, distal spine very long, gonopore large, submedial ( Figs 167, 168); connective broadly Y-shaped, stem short, membranous on each side of middle ( Fig. 169); dorsal connective long, narrow (170), attached to base of aedeagal socle ( Fig. 167).

Material examined. Holotype male. COLOMBIA: Meta, PNN Tinigua Caño Nevera , 2º1’N.– 73º48’W., 390 m., Malaise, 12/22/01–1/7/03, C. Sanchez, Leg., M. 3476 ( IAHC) GoogleMaps . Paratype male, same data as holotype ( MLBM) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The name is descriptive for the small submedial lobe on the style.

Remarks. From D. longilobata , sp. nov. to which it is closely related, D. brevilobata can be distinguished by the larger, narrower pygofer and configuration of the lobed style.
