Type:— BRAZIL. Ceará: Fortaleza, 29 January 1956, Ducke 2516 (holotype RB!, two sheets, [ RB00652691 ] & [ RB01433607 ] ; isotypes EAC! [ EAC0001584 ] ; IAN! [ IAN104997 ] ).

Cunha (1982) also cites two paratypes for this species: Lisboa 2401 (MG! [MG2401]; RB! [RB00437042]) and Drouet 2437 (NY! [NY00996417]; R! [R30232]).
