Rusby (1896) cited the specimen Bang 1339 as the type of Luehea splendens , using the material from several herbaria, mainly from the K and LGO. Currently, the latter is included in the NY collection, where Rusby worked ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976 –1988: 997) and has three duplicates of Bang 1339. Therefore, according to Arts. 9.3 and 9.4 of the ICN, we designate here, among the syntypes, the specimen NY [NY00415484] with the label written by Bang and Rusby as the lectotype of L. splendens .
