Luehea tessmannii Burret (1926: 836) View in CoL .
Lectotype (designated here):— PERU. Amazonas: Iquitos, 10 July 1924, Tessmann 3664 ( G! [ G00357090 ] ; isolectotype NY! [ NY00415485 ] . Holotype B destroyed, photo in F! [negative number 9247] ).
Burret (1926) cited the lost specimen Tessmann 3664 in B as the type of Luehea tessmannii . Analysing the herbaria where Tessmann’s collections are deposited, we found two duplicates in G and NY compatible with the protologue. In addition, the specimen Tessmann 3664 in G has an original label of B, testifying to the donation of material by Burret. For these reasons, in accordance with Art. 9.3 of the ICN, we designate here the specimen Tessmann 3664 (G [G00357090]) as the lectotype of L. tessmannii .
