Etymology. The species name comes from Latin “auriculatus”, referring to the shape of spermatheca including prolateral bursa, retrolateral bursa and connecting tube, and meaning “ear-shaped”, and is an adjective.

Diagnosis. The female of the new species resembles that of M. bifurcatus Dong, Yan, Zhu & Song, 2004 in having similar spermathecae including prolateral bursae, retrolateral bursae and connecting tubes between them both, but can be distinguished by copulatory openings inconspicuous and copulatory ducts strongly curved to form a half loop in this species ( Figs 5 View FIGURE 5 , 6 View FIGURE 6 ), while the presence of conspicuous copulatory openings, and longitudinal and almost straight copulatory ducts in M. bifurcatus ( Figs 11 View FIGURE 11 , 12 View FIGURE 12 ).

Description. Female (holotype; Ulob-0002-HNU): Total length 4.23, carapace 1.24 long, 1.04 wide, abdomen 2.99 long, 1.22 wide. Carapace ( Fig. 1A, D View FIGURE 1 ) yellowish, approximately oblong. AME strongly reduced in size, only two black eyespots present; ALE completely absent. Eye diameters: PME 0.12; PLE 0.13; PME-PME 0.51; PME- PLE 0.27. Chelicerae ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ) yellowish, without tooth, and with cusps and bristles along margins of fang groove. Endite ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ) pale yellowish, longer than wide. Labium ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ) drop-shaped, yellowish, but light color in the terminal end. Sternum ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ) gray-black, divided into three unequal parts, bearing a few hairs. Leg measurements: I 8.29 (3.21, 0.92, 2.45, 1.17, 0.54); II 4.26 (1.39, 0.52, 0.92, 1.07, 0.49); III 3.2 (0.99, 0.30, 0.67, 0.74, 0.5); IV 6.36 (2.02, 0.55, 2.46, 1.00, 0.36); leg formula 1423. Legs ( Fig. 1A–C, F View FIGURE 1 ) yellowish, leg I stronger and longer than all the other legs, and leg IV bearing calamistrum and macrosetae on the metatarsal segment. Abdomen long and slender, completely covered by silvery patterns, and also with three pairs of small gray spots dorsally ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ), uniform yellow in ventral view ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ).

Epigynum ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 , 3 View FIGURE 3 ). Atrium and copulatory opening inconspicuous. Retrolateral bursa (RB) pear-shaped, extended towards posterior and almost close to prolateral bursa (PB). PB globular, almost as large as RB. Connecting tube (CT) slightly bent, and almost close to each other in the middle part of the tubes. Copulatory duct strongly curved to form a half loop, almost as large as CT in the diameter of tubes. Fertilization ducts membranous, relative large, and with the distal ends close to each other.
