Type species. Encentra longipes Redtenbacher, 1982 by monotypy. Redtenbacher, 1892: 204; Kirby, 1906: 360; Bruner, 1915: 335.
Diagnosis. Slender katydids, apterous, with greatly elongated legs. Differing from Tabaria by the pronotal spines finishing in an acute tip. The four lateral spines, two on each side of meso- and metazona arranged in a diagonal line one to another. Hind femur with basal portion distinctly expanded and tapering toward the tip. Meso- and metasternum with one median spine.
