Distribution. Nearctic. Canada: AB, BC, LB, MB, NB, NF, NS, ON, QC, SK. USA (NCR): ME (NSR), NH (NSR).
Collection and Habitat data. The NH specimens were found in leaf litter at a birch sap drip in deciduous forests and in an old burned field. Collected in May and August–October by window and flight intercept traps, and by sifting rotting lawn clippings. In Canada found in various forest types, usually in dung or decaying mushrooms: eastern white cedar swamp in moose dung, mature red spruce and eastern white cedar forest in deer dung, mixed forest in bear dung, in decaying (moldy) corncobs and cornhusks near mixed forest, regenerating mixed forest in decaying mushrooms, near lakeshore in decaying fungi, and in an old jack pine forest in rotten Boletus mushrooms. Also taken in a red maple swamp in leaf litter near a stream, and by pitfall traps in a red spruce forest A few specimens were collected at UV lights ( Klimaszewski et al. 2018).
