Collection and Habitat data. In NH a male was captured in maple litter from along a stream in an old-growth silver maple floodplain forest in July. In Canada most specimens of this species were collected by passive traps in a variety of habitats (Brunke et al. 2021). In Sweden P. palustris is considered a eurytopic species that occurs in various types of decaying plant matter, including compost, seaweed and hay piles, and is common along muddy shores of water bodies ( Palm 1970). It can be collected in very large numbers using a car net (Brunke et al. 2021).
