Distribution. Nearctic. Canada: NB, NF, NS, ON, PE, QC. USA: AR, DC, GA, ME (NSR), NC, NH (NSR), NY, PA, RI, TN, WI.

Collection and Habitat data. The NH specimens were captured in pine-oak barrens, hemlock litter, under hemlock bark, rotten birch, rotten wood, in flight intercept and window traps; and the ME specimens were taken by a flight intercept trap. Adults found from May to October in NH. In Canada found in a variety of coniferous and deciduous forests as well as mixed forests ( Klimaszewski et al. 2004, 2018). Adults taken in moss; alder, birch, maple, and oak litters; under bark of Picea glauca (Moench) Voss. , in rotten logs, in Pleurotus sp , on log, and in old Scolytine burrows in red spruce ( Picea rubens Sarg. ) where it was found with Leptusa brevicollis Casey , Carphonotus testaceus Casey ( Curculionidae : Cossoninae ), and Paromalus teres LeConte ( Histeridae : Dendrophilinae) ( Klimaszewski et al. 2004, 2018).
