Distribution. Nearctic, transcontinental in Canada, recorded from A/S ( Klimaszewski et al. 2001). Canada: AB, BC, NB, NF, ON, QC, SK. USA: AK, NH (NSR).
Collection and Habitat data. No habitat data for the NH specimens; collected by pitfall traps. In AK found in a black spruce forest. In Canada, found in open habitats; in flood debris on a river margin, on soil at the base of grasses in a residential lawn, in Lindgren funnel trap set in jack pine forest, from pitfalls in soybean fields (most common rove beetle in this habitat in southern ON), oak savanna/alvar habitats under stones and in pitfall traps, hedgerow in pitfall traps, and in Malaise pans in a field in a sub-boreal spruce forest in BC ( Brunke et al. 2012, Klimaszewski et al. 2021).
