The NH specimens were captured in maple litter along a stream in a forest, riparian vegetation in a forest, and in a slough area at an old-growth silver maple floodplain forest. Collected from May to November. In Canada recorded from riparian habitats and pond margins, usually associated with muddy or clay soils; margins of beaver ponds on muddy soil, on mud with sparse vegetation along a sun-exposed stream margin through a former beaver pond (many adults observed running on bare mud), pond margin in moist grass litter on mud (Webster et al. 2009b).
