In Europe reported from synanthropic habitats such as urban meadows, lawns, fallow areas, gardens, strip mines, and in pioneer vegetation; it is also found in swamps, bogs, flood plains, riverbanks, meadows, grasslands, in leaf litter, moss, grass, compost, rotting debris, and under reeds and ferns ( Assing 1999).
