Materials examined. 303 females, 106 males, 76 deutonymphs and 37 protonymphs, soil and litter samples under pine trees ( Pinus sp.), Turkish pine ( Pinus brutia ), oak trees ( Quercus sp.), olive ( Olea europaea ) and cypress trees ( Cupressus sp.), various localities in Eceabat district (Çanakkale province), between January 2013 and December 2013; 246 females, 98 males, 63 deutonymphs and 23 protonymphs, soil, litter and moss samples under Turkish pine ( Pinus brutia ), stone pine ( Pinus pinea ), oak trees ( Quercus sp.), kermes oak ( Quercus coccifera ), juniper trees ( Juniperus sp.), common juniper ( Juniperus communis ) and Mediterranean cypress ( Cupressus sempervirens ), various localities in Gelibolu district (Çanakkale province), between January 2013 and March 2014; 285 females, 110 males, 64 deutonymphs and 30 protonymphs, soil, litter and moss samples under pine trees ( Pinus sp.), Turkish pine ( Pinus brutia ), oak trees ( Quercus sp.), blackberry ( Rubus sp.), Lebanon cedar ( Cedrus libani ) and poplar trees ( Populus sp.), various localities in Centre of Tekirdağ province, between December 2013 and March 2014; 128 females, 41 males, 17 deutonymphs and 5 protonymphs, moss samples on soil layer, 41°57' N, 26°38' E, 204 m, vicinity of Paşayiğit village, Keşan district (Tekirdağ province), April 2014; 19 females, 4 males and 2 deutonymphs, soil, litter and moss samples under oak trees ( Quercus sp.), Hungarian oak ( Quercus frainetto ), downy oak ( Quercus pubescens ), hartwiss oak ( Quercus hartwissiana ) and Turkish oak ( Quercus cerris ), various localities in Çatalca district (İstanbul province), April 2013; 127 females, 40 males, 49 deutonymphs and 31 protonymphs, soil and litter samples under Hungarian oak ( Quercus frainetto ), downy oak ( Quercus pubescens ), blackberry ( Rubus sp.) and stone pine ( Pinus pinea ), various localities in Saray district (Tekirdağ province), between September 2013 and March 2014; 106 females, 39 males, 43 deutonymphs and 13 protonymphs, soil, litter and moss samples under oak trees ( Quercus sp.) and juniper trees ( Juniperus sp.), various localities in Şarköy district (Tekirdağ province), March 2014.

Distribution. Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, France, Russia and Turkey ( Petrova, 1977; Urhan, 1991).

Remarks. This species was recorded from Artvin, Aydın, Denizli, Erzurum, Giresun and İstanbul provinces before, and we report new localities of this species from Turkey in this paper. This is the second most abundant specimens of Zercon in the study area.
