Body size. Female: length 14.5 mm, maximum width of elytra 7.5 mm (based on originally description).
Material examined. No materials are available for this study.
Distribution. China: Shaanxi.
Comments. The holotype was not found in the collection of Southwest University. The species was originally described based on a female specimen collected from Mianxian, Shaanxi. According to the original description, it is different from the other species (except M. nitidituberculatus Hua ) of the genus by the female antenna being distinctly shorter than the body; it is different from M. nitidituberculatus Hua by the elytra without large tubercles arranged in longitudinal rows.
Wang (2005) recorded that the species was distributed in Guizhou based on a male specimen collected from Dashahe Nature Reserve. However, after checking the specimen carefully, the first author found that it was misidentified. In fact, it represents an undescribed species that is described in this paper.
