Berosus festivus Berg: Oliva (1989: 101).
Material examined
(5).VENEZUELA: Barinas State: Santa Barbara, iv.1981 light trap, leg. H. Martínez (5 ex., MACN).
Distribution.
Argentina, Brazil, Guyana, Uruguay, Venezuela (Barinas).
Remarks.
This species was first recorded from Venezuela by Oliva (1989) from Santa Barbara in Barinas State, although Oliva (1993) later omitted Venezuela because of some doubt about the identity of the Venezuelan specimens; Hansen (1999) based the distribution data of this species on the latter paper. The first author examined again the specimens from Barinas and confirmed they have all the characters of Berosus festivus .
