Atropacarus (Atropacarus) parastriculus View in CoL sp. n.

( Figs. 3 A–F View FIGURE 3 A – F )

Measurements of holotype. Prodorsum: length 215 width 157, height 99, sensillus 76, setae: in 63, le 23, ro 48, ex 15; notogaster: length 434, width 288, height 263, setae: c1 33, h1 63, p1 61; c1 / c1–d1 = 0.33; genitoaggenital plate 116×76; anoadanal plate 144×76.

Diagnosis. Relatively long and procumbent rostral setae, sensilli long and tapering distally, presence of 9 pairs of genital setae, genua of leg IV without setae.

Description. Colour light yellow. Surface of body covered with weak concavities, more in prodorsum than in notogaster.

Prodorsum ( Fig. 3A–B View FIGURE 3 A – F ) with weak sigillar fields, median longer than laterals, lateral carinae absent, posterior furrows well developed. Sensilli long, narrow, tapering distally, covered with small cilia in distal half. Interlamellar setae thick, erect covered with small spines in distal half similar to notogastral setae. Lamellar setae short, needleform. Rostral setae procumbent, rough.

Notogaster ( Fig. 3E View FIGURE 3 A – F ) with 16 pairs of short setae, rigid, covered with short spines in distal half, similar to interlamellar setae. Setae c1 situated near anterior margin, setae c3 remote slightly and setae c2 more from border. Ve st igial setae f1 located posteriorly of setae h1. Two pairs of lyrifissures ia and im, lyrifissures im situated below the line cp -h3.

Ventral side ( Fig. 3C–D View FIGURE 3 A – F ). Setae h of mentum as long as distance between them. Formula of genital setae: 6: 3. Anoadanal plates with five pairs of setae, four pairs near proximal border flagellate long and rather smooth, setae ad3 long and rough.

Legs: Chaetome of legs incomplete, genua of leg IV without setae; setae d on femora I ( Fig. 3F View FIGURE 3 A – F ) situated at distal end of segment, setae v’, l and d minute.

Material examined. Holotype and three paratypes are deposited at DATE, three paratypes at ISB. Locus typicus: ESP-92, Spain, Puerto de Aliba, 22.VII.2004, growth of Genista hispanica , sample of dry rhizosphere, leg. M. Svoboda.

Etymology. The name refers to the similarity of the new species to Atropacarus (Atropacarus) striculus ( C.L. Koch, 1836) .

Comparison. The new species is similar to the very common species Atropacarus (Atropacarus) striculus ( C.L. Koch, 1836) , among other morphological characters the lyrifissures im are situated below the line cp -h3, but it differs from this common species by the presence of 9 pairs of genital setae, relatively long and procumbent rostral setae, absence of setae of genua and slightly different shape of sensilli.
