Genus Hyaliodes Reuter View in CoL

Type species: Hyaliodes vitripennis Say, 1832 . Monotypic. Hyaliodes Reuter 1876:83 (new genus); Carvalho 1957:46; Capriles 1969:29 (diagnosis); Neocarnus Distant 1884:289 (new genus, synonymized by Reuter 1907:78); Schuh 2002 –2013 (online catalog).

Diagnosis. Head not more than twice as long as wide; eyes separated from the collar by a distance larger than half or approximately the width of one eye. Pronotum considerably shortened towards the collar.
