Type Locality: Russia, Orenburg Oblast, near Orenburg.
Vernacular Names: Eversmann's Hamster.
Synonyms: Allocricetulus beljawi (Argyropulo 1933) ; Allocricetulus belajevi (Selevin 1934) ; Allocricetulus beljaevi (Kuznetzov 1944) ; Allocricetulus microdon (Ognev 1925) ; Allocricetulus pseudocurtatus Vorontsov and Kryukova 1969 .
Distribution: Steppes of N Kazakhstan from Volga River to the upper Irtysh River at Zaysan Lake in E Kazakhstan; also N Xinjiang Prov., NW China ( Wang, 2003).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
