Barombia tuberculosa Karsch, 1891

Material examined. Cameroon, Mukonje Farm , R . Rohde (3♀, one of them is sublaevis) Cameroon, Bibundi 6.VII.1911 (1♂) ( MZUH) .

Remarks. Bolívar (1905) described Barombia tuberculosa var. sublaevis , characterized by a less tuberculated body. Otte (1995) raised it to subspecies level, but the two forms live together, as the above listed specimens demonstrate; however, apart from the lacking tubercles, it is identical to B. tuberculosa . Thus, it should be considered within the variability of B. tuberculosa .
