Stratigraphy:— Upper Miocene (Serravallian).
Status:— Leaves.
IFPNI registration lsid:— E46B9157-5E5B-4818-981B-F1836EB3078B
Note:— The fossil leaves known as Polygonum zablockii Kownas (1955: 470) from the Upper Miocene (Serravallian) sediments of Poland, were recently transferred to Persicaria by Iljinskaja ( Iljinskaja & Pneva 2006: 16). She also mentioned ‘lectotypus’ for the fossil-species [# 251, illustrated by Kownas, l.c.: pl. 11, fig. 11], but infringed the requirements of Art. 7.10 to specify the exact place of lectotypification by the phrase “designated here (hic designatus)” or an equivalent. Unfortunately, this illustrated specimen was not found (perhaps lost), and therefore, another lectotype is designated here.
