Basionym:— Polygonum miosinicum Hu & Chaney (1938: 42) .
Type:— CHINA. Shandong Province, Linqu County, Shanwang diatomite mine (holotype PB 10 B 16 [# 196], Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing, China (formerly in the National Geological Survey of China [dissolved])], figured by Hu & Chaney 1938: pl. 19, fig. 2).
Stratigraphy:— Miocene.
Status:— Leaves.

Note:— The first discovery of the Reynoutria - type of fossil leaves in the Miocene sediments of China was formally described as a distinct fossil-species Polygonum miosinicum Hu & Chaney (1938: 42) ; it is recombined here formally into Reynoutria .
