Type material

Etymology
The name of this species is based on the type locality of the new species, Yunnan province, dian for short, with the name of the compared species “ brunneigena ” added .
Distribution
China, Yunnan Province, Mount Yulongxue.
Remarks
The new species is similar to H. brunneigena Emden, 1965 , but differs from the latter as follows. Eye covered with sparse short ciliae; frons narrower than the distance between posterior ocelli in width, frontal vitta black, about 1.5–2.0 times as wide as frontoorbital plate in the narrowest place, the longest aristal hairs about 1.5 times as wide as postpedicel, mid-tibia in apical half and hind tibia in apical four-fifths brown.
Description (based on holotype)
Male. Body length 7.5–7.8 mm.
Colour: Frontal vitta black, parafacial covered with light grey pruinosity, antenna black, lunule brown, genal and postgenal hairs black, palpus black. Thorax black in ground-colour, covered with light grey pruinosity, postsutural area of scutum with brown vitta in the post part. Wing light brown, veins and basicosta brown, calypters light yellowish, haltere yellow. Mid-tibia in apical half and hind tibia in apical fourfifths brown, otherwise black. Abdomen ground-colour black, covered with densely light grey to grey yellow pruinosity, lateral part of tergites 3 to 5 with a pair of black lateral patches, with the middle black vitta in centre sometimes, the basal part of setae covered with brown pruinosity.
Head: Eye covered with sparse short ciliae; frons narrower than the distance between posterior ocelli in width, frontal vitta about 1.5–2.0 times as wide as frontoorbital plate in the narrowest place, seven or eight pairs of frontal setae on lower three-fifths of frons, without ors; ocellar seta short and small, shorter than the lower frontal setae in length; inner vertical seta thin and short, and longer than outer vertical seta, fronto-orbital plate, parafacial in centre about 1.2 times as wide as postpedicel; postpedicel about 3.2–3.4 times as long as broad, arista long plumose, the longest aristal hairs about 1.5 times as wide as postpedicel, vibrissal angle situated behind frontal angle; anterior margin of gena with one row of upcurved subvibrissal setulae, genal height about two-sevenths of eye height, the upper lateral area of the occiput with hairs, prementum covered with pruinosity, about twice as long as broad, palpus about 1.3 times as long as prementum.
Thorax: Scutum with four broad vittae, the middle black vitta narrower than inner vitta in width, the inner vitta reaching scutoscutellar suture; two or three rows of prstacr, acr 0+1, dc 2+4, ial 0+2, pra absent or hair-like, postpronotal seta 2, posthumeral seta 1+0, notopleuron, lateral margin and lower surface of scutellum, basisternum of prosternum, proepisternum hollow in centre, anepimeron, katepimeron and meron all bare; upper proepisternal seta 1, upper proepimeral seta 2+2.
Wing: Costal spine short and small, shorter than cross-vein r-m, Sc curved and arc-shaped, dorsal and ventral surface of radial node bare, r-m and dm-cu cross-vein not clouded.
Legs: Fore tibia with one median p; mid-femur without distinct av, with a complete pv row, those in basal half four or five strong, in apical half with short setae, about three-fifths of tibial diameter in length, mid-tibia without ad and pv, with three p, hind femur with a complete av row, only in basal half two or three strong and long, the av in apical three-quarters about two-fifths of tibial diameter in length, without pv; hind tibia with two av, two or three ad, with one short pd in submedial, the back of the middle with a short row of setae, all tarsi longer than tibiae in length, claws and pulvilli long, subequal with fifth tarsomere in length.
Abdomen: Cone-shaped in dorsal view, the lateral patches of tergite 5 small or indistinct, posterior margin of tergite 5 with a complete setal row, with two rows of discal bristles, the basal part of setae with sparse short hairs, tergite 6 and sternite 1 all bare.
