Chlaenius distigma Chaudoir, 1876 View in CoL was misrepresented at Chanu & Swaminathan (2017: 558), as the figure of the last labial palpomere of this species (553, fig. 65) clearly points out to a member of the subgenus Ocybatus . C. distigma View in CoL is a synonym of C. flaviguttatus MacLeay, 1825 View in CoL as already published by Kirschenhofer (2002: 40). The only distinguishing character with regard to C. flaviguttatus View in CoL , is the brighter, metallic coloration of head and pronotum ( germanus 1876: 49 View in CoL ). Type location: " Singapore ".
According to the figure in Chanu & Swaminathan (2017: 553, fig. 65), the labial palp corresponds to a species of the vulneratus View in CoL group.
