Type Locality: Costa Rica, Guanacaste, Hda. Miravalles, between 1,400 and 2,000 ft. (427-610 m).
Vernacular Names: Tricolored Bat.
Distribution: Peru and SE Brazil north to Nayarit and Veracruz ( Mexico); Trinidad.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt) as Micronycteris sylvestris .
Discussion: Probably a junior synonym of behnii ; see Simmons (1996).
