Key to Eastern Palearctic species of Linycus

1 Scutellum strongly convex, without white spot ( Fig. 3-H ). Areolet pentagonal ( Fig. 4-A ) to quadrangular; Median field of postpetiole weakly rugose; area between gastrocoeli rugose; posterior margins of T5–T7 concave ( Fig. 2-F ).................... L. exhortator (Fabricius) [New to Japan: Hokkaidô, Honshû; Shikoku, Kyûshû; widely distributed in Holarctic region]

- Scutellum moderately convex, with a white spot ( Fig. 3-G ). Areolet quadrangular ( Fig. 4-B ); Median field of postpetiole smooth; area between gastrocoeli weakly rugose-punctate; posterior margins of T5–T7 slightly concave ( Fig. 3-E )................................................................................
